Attendance Record

You can manage the attendance of members (e.g. students) registered in a course through the Attendance Management feature.

Enabling the Attendance Management Feature

  1. Before using the Attendance Management feature, you need to activate it.

  2. Go to Course > Settings > Features.

  3. Check the 'Attendance Management' option in the Features section.

  4. Click the Save button to complete the setup.

  5. Verify that the 'Attendance Management' tab is created in the left menu.

Attendance Management Settings

  1. Go to the Course > Attendance Management tab.

  2. Click the 'Attendance Management Settings' button to proceed with the setup.

    1. Attendance Period: Set the period for using the Attendance Management feature (start date and end date).

    2. Attendance Recognition Time: Set the time range during which attendance is recognized for course members (start time and end time).

    3. Departure Recognition Time: Set the time range during which departure is recognized for course members (start time and end time).

    4. Minimum Stay Time: Set the minimum required stay time for course members to be counted as attending. The stay time accumulates from the moment the member accesses the course page. (The minimum stay time can be set up to 720 minutes.)

  1. Once you have completed the Attendance Management settings, the corresponding information will be displayed at the top of the Attendance Management page.

Using the Attendance Management Feature

  1. Users registered as course members can use the Attendance Management feature.

  2. After entering the course page with the 'Student' role, go to the 'Attendance Management' tab in the left menu.

  3. Click the 'Check-in' button within the attendance recognition time to complete the attendance.

  1. Proceed with the learning while staying in the course.

  2. Click the 'Check-out' button within the departure recognition time to complete the departure.

If the minimum stay time requirement is not met, the attendance will not be considered complete. The member's stay time can be checked in the Attendance Management tab. The stay time accumulates at the course level.

Managing the Attendance

  1. Members with the 'Teaching Assistant-Head Teaching Assistant-Instructor-Administrator' roles can manage the attendance.

  2. Go to Course > Attendance Management tab to view the overview of the attendance for the course.

  3. Click the 'Download Attendance' button in the top right corner to download the entire attendance data in Excel format.

Modifying Attendance Status

  • If you need to change the attendance status of a specific member, click the 'Edit' icon button located on the right side of the table.

    • Attendance Status: You can change the attendance status to 'Present-Absent-Late-Attendance Not Recognized'.

    • Reason for Change: You can enter a reason for the change of attendance status for shared purposes among administrators.

Detailed Attendance Records

  • Click on the name of a member in the Attendance Management tab to view the detailed attendance records for that member.

  • In the detailed attendance records page for a specific member, you can see the attendance records and status for each day.

  • You can also modify the attendance status for each day and check the history of previous modifications.
