Registering a Data Library

This document explains how to register and manage data libraries on the Elice platform.

Registering Data Libraries

Method 1: Registering through the Course List

To register a library, add new data. (You can also use existing data.)

  • Access the Subject > Course List and click the "Add Data" button to create the data to be registered as a new library.

  • Click the "Manage Data Libraries" button on the page.

    • Access the "Unregistered Library Data" tab.

    • Click the "Register as My Institution's Exclusive Library" button. (If you want to register it as a library for all institutions, please contact the Elice Operations Team.)

    • Select the data to be registered as a library and click the "Register" button.

      • You can use the "Library Registration Memo" feature to manage the library history within your institution. (You can check this memo when updating and managing the library version on the Data Library Management page.)

  • The registered library can be viewed in the Subject Detail page > Subject/Data Library menu > Data Library tab.

Tip) The green icon displayed with the data library indicates that it is the "original file" of the data library.

Method 2: Registering through the Subject/Data Library Menu

  • After creating the data in the class, go to the Subject Detail page > Subject/Data Library menu > Data Library tab.

  • Click on the "Unregistered Library Data" tab.

  • Click the "Register as My Institution's Exclusive Library" button.

  • Select the data to be registered as a library and click the "Register" button.

Registering a Data Library as "Library for All Institutions"

By default, a data library registered can only be used within the institution where it was created. This concept is referred to as "My Institution's Exclusive."

You can change the data library registered as "My Institution's Exclusive" to a library that can be used by all institutions. This is referred to as a "Library for All Institutions." The registration and management of "Library for All Institutions" can only be done by the Elice Operations Team.

Typically, each institution imports the "Library for All Institutions" provided by Elice and uses it. However, if necessary, you can register a "My Institution's Exclusive" data library as an Elice library (i.e., Library for All Institutions). In this case, the help of the Elice Operations Team is required.

This section explains the process of registering a "My Institution's Exclusive" data library as a "Library for All Institutions" directly by the Elice Operations Team.

  • Go to the Subject Detail page > Subject/Data Library menu > Data Library tab.

  • Select the "My Institution's Exclusive" tab.

  • Click the "Register as Library for All Institutions" button.

  • When registering a Library for All Institutions, detailed settings for the library attributes are required.

    • Price Type: Set the conditions for using the data. Choose either Free or Paid.

    • Public Type: Set whether the data should be public or not. Most data is "Public," but the "Private" option is used when the Elice Operations Team needs to assign specific data to specific institutions.

    • Selected Data: Select the data to register as a "Library for All Institutions."

  • After completing the settings, click the "Register" button.
